Why do a 1:1 Pilates Session?

In a world full of group fitness classes and online workouts, it’s easy to assume that exercise is a one-size-fits-all experience. But when it comes to Pilates - a method built on precision, control, and body awareness - there’s immense value in slowing things down and focusing in. Sometimes these subtle details are easy to miss in a group class. That’s where a 1:1 Pilates session comes in.

In a 1:1 Pilates session, it’s focused entirely on you. You receive personalised movement cues, hands-on corrections, and tailored support that helps you feel what ‘ideal’ form actually feels like in your body. Less guesswork and more real, embodied understanding.

This helps you build your internal awareness of how movements feel in your body, so you can move more confidently on your own, whether you're exercising at home, in a group class, or throughout daily life. This is the answer to: ‘how do I know if I’m doing it right?’

Injury Prevention with Clinical Expertise

No doubt that you’ve already heard that pilates is great for both injury prevention, building strength and recovering from injury - when it’s done well. But incorrect loading, poor alignment, or compensation patterns can quickly leave you feeling sore, or reinforcing those dysfunctional patterns we’re trying to change.

As a Myotherapist and a Pilates instructor, I apply a clinical lens to pilates sessions. This means it’s not just about cueing exercises - it’s about looking at how you’re moving, identifying underlying patterns and making targeted adjustments so that you get the most out of your session and the confidence to know that you’re doing it right.

It’s not just about ‘doing Pilates’ - it’s movement as therapy, supported by a health practitioner who understands the relationship between pain and movement, and how your body functions.

Personalised Programs for Smarter, Safer, Effective Progress

No two bodies are the same (despite what the textbooks suggest) - your Pilates training shouldn’t be either.

In a 1:1 session, I can tailor every aspect of your program to your body, history and goals. Whether you’re recovering from an injury, dealing with a chronic condition or ongoing niggle, training for sport, or just trying to move better - I can adapt the session to meet you where you’re at.

Ultimately, this means faster more sustainable progress - because it’s totally focused on you - without the setbacks that can come from more generic programming or group classes.

Pilates with a Myo: More than just exercise

Many Pilates instructors do fantastic work - a great group instructor can be the difference between loving your class and hating every second of it.

What I offer is a little different.

As a Myotherapist, I bring an allied health care background to Pilates. With extensive training in anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, injury treatment, clinical rehabilitation and neuro-musculoskeletal dysfunction; means I can modify or progress exercises in clinically informed ways to help you stay safe, reduce pain and optimise performance.

Building Body Awareness and Confidence in Movement

1:1 Pialtes is a great way to deepen your understanding of how your body moves. As you learn how to move with more control and alignment, you’ll start to notice improvements in your posture, strength, breath and how you body moves throughout the day.

The goal isn’t about making you dependent on a practitioner, it’s about empowering you with the tools, awareness and confidence to own how your body moves - so you can feel capable wherever and however you move.
