There’s more to Myotherapy than massage.
Lot’s of people ask “Is Myotherapy the same as Massage?” The simple answer: no, it’s not. Clinical Myotherapy goes beyond massage. There are many good massage therapists out there - but Myotherapists are not massage therapists.
Clinical Myotherapy takes an evidence informed approach to treat and manage neuro-musculoskeletal presentations and symptoms. This means that a Myotherapy treatment focuses not just on the muscles (the primary focus of a massage therapist), but on the many soft tissues of the body including; fascia, nerves, lymphatics, tendons and ligaments. As well as the joints and their movement.
But yes, we do use massage techniques as one of our many tools to help treat your complaint - because Myotherapists are first and foremost manual therapists - just like Osteopaths, Chiropractors, Remedial Massage Therapists and Massage Therapists.
Myotherapists (just like all manual therapists) possess a range of skills, techniques and knowledge to help address your complaint.
